A teleprompter system fits in front of the camera. It consists of an LCD monitor and high quality reflective beam-splitter glass. The text from the monitor reflects onto the front of the the glass for the presenter to read, while the camera films through the rear, non-reflective side.
This allows the presenter to talk directly into camera (while reading their script) making it look natural and conversational, without missing a line.
